Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Through our partnership with the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in Philadelphia, we are able to offer incredible kayaking and hiking experiences – all within city limits. Established in 1972, John Heinz is the first urban wildlife refuge, providing an environmental education center and treasured green space to the people of the city and visitors from around the world. As part of the Delaware River Estuary, the refuge is home to the largest remaining freshwater tidal marsh in Pennsylvania, offering nature lovers the opportunity to view an abundance of wildlife inside the city, but in its natural habitat.
