North Park covers 3,000 acres of land, including many blazed hiking trails that offer something for everyone – from easy to difficult terrain – and an open-field archery range surrounded by trees and wildflowers. North Park Lake provides a tranquil venue for kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) excursions, with no motorized boats and many species of fish, amphibians, and mammals to spot.

Outdoor specialties: Ultramarathons; thru-hiking (Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail); bow-drill fire making; car camping with my kids


Favorite outdoor memory: Proposing to my wife with 500 miles left on the Pacific Crest Trail at Eagle Creek in Oregon. 


Most rewarding part of your job: Sharing my passion of the outdoors with people of all ages and abilities, and helping customers connect to their local parks.
